This winged barklouse (Order Psocoptera; Family Psocidae), an ancestor of common barklice prevalent today, may have lived under the bark of an ancient resin-producing tree when it was trapped around 25 MYr ago. It is perfectly preserved in the amber, such that even its antennal hairs and the subltleties of its wing pigmentation were retained (click over the wing for higher magnification view of the wing structure).
