The model, including bench, racks, shelving, instruments, tracings, and monitors, was constructed entirely in Adobe PhotoShop and Macromedia Freehand. The microscope, micromanipulator, and bottles were modified from digital photographs. The prototype virtual lab environment was included as part of an NSF proposal submitted by a UW Zoology departmental team to create an educational software program to emulate and model actual experiments in neurophysiology.
